    What the regulations need

    RequirementWhere it comes from

A general guide for England. Building control and your designer may add project-specific requirements. We handle the electrical side, including notification and certificates for your building control sign-off.

    Why the timing matters

Electrics happen in two visits. First fix is before plastering: cables, back boxes and ducting. Second fix is after decorating: sockets, switches, lights and appliances. Miss the first fix and walls get chased again after they've been finished.

    • We'll coordinate with your builder, plumber, plasterer and kitchen fitter
    • Clear drawings of where every socket, switch and light goes
    • Certificates ready for building control completion

Things worth adding while the walls are open

    • Cat6 data points and ceiling Wi-Fi access points
    • Speaker cable for in-ceiling audio
    • A spare cable route for an EV charger or heat pump
    • Recessed TV boxes and hidden sockets
    • Outdoor sockets and garden lighting feeds
    • Smart lighting and heating controls
